Wordless Wednesday: Lots of Feet

Hello, Friends!

I hope that you have all had a great week so far.

Today I am linking up with Miss DeCarbo from Sugar and Spice for her Wordless Wednesday linky.

On Monday, we started our measurement unit.  We learned why we have standard units of measurement.  So, we measured how many "feet" it would take to get from one side of the room to the other.

When we all had different answers, they soon realized the importance of rulers, yardsticks, and measuring tapes.

They laughed and laughed. This picture made me smile.  :-) That's 3 focused smarties right there.

What activities do you do to help teach measurement?

Lots of love,
Jeannie

  1. At some point in the year we go out and measure the length of the playground with our bodies! We partner up, laying head to head and toe to toe, and count how many kid lengths it takes. Fun!
